Some operating systems, notably Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 do not configure themselves to load the AHCI driver upon boot if the SATA-drive controller was not in AHCI mode at the time of installation. The AHCI driver on my BIOS can't scan the drive, this is well before Windows even loads. It would be weird for a driver install that isn't firmware for the SSD itself to alter the hard drive so the BIOS AHCI scan would work now. Also Windows 10 update install worked. If you disable this service, Windows 10 will fail to start. Do NOT change this service startup configuration if your computer is working. - Sep 02, 2015 I noticed after a clean install of Win 10 Pro that in the Device Manager I had two 'Standard SATA AHCI Controller' entries that showed the driver dated in 2006. I run 2 x SSD's a HDD and a BluRay writer. So I downloaded the latest version of SATA drivers at.
- The (Intel Matrix) Storage Manager driver files from the 'F6flpy' directory of Toshiba's Intel Matrix Management package must be added during the manual XP installation when asked to 'Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver'. In order to add the AHCI driver.

Sata Ahci Controller Driver Windows 10 Toshiba Windows 7
Hello,
I have the Maximus V Formual which has the Intel Z77 chipset. I just did a clean install of Windows 10 64Bit.
Sadly I did NOT find much drivers on Asus website, in particular the SATA drivers for the Intel SATA Controller. In device manager I have listed under IDE ATA/ATAP Controllers category the following 3 entries: Standard SATA AHCI Controller.
Without the proper driver, performance and functionality is limited, correct?
Any suggestions where I can download the Intel SATA Driver for Windows 10?
Thank you

I have a toshiba satellite A210-127 laptop with original SATA II HDD, the BIOS has no SATA/RAID configuration options at all and wouldn't have those even if I had updated it (confirmed with toshiba tech support).
I'm replacing the HDD with samsung EVO SSD soon and I'll install brand new win7 x64 onto it.
I'm worried it'll run in IDE mode, there are different opinions on the internet, some people say the drive will pick up AHCI mode automatically, some say it won't.
The mobo is based on AMD/ATI SB600 bridge and I learnt that it supports AHCI, yet toshiba guys say it does not.
In another thread online I read that somebody with SB600 bridge force-installed SB800 drivers as they performed much better than SB600 drivers, NCQ-wise.
Could some of you, experts, enlighten me please? I'm confused so badly.
I tried to find the SB600 or SB800 AHCI drivers but I didn't find any for an hour, if you know which ones I should install I'd be grateful for a link (also, use them when? During windows setup or after windows is installed?) D'oh! I'm confused, so many questions.
I appreciate any help.
